株式会社The Bees Knee’s（本社：東京都江東区清澄3-9-18）はNY中の市民に愛されたアーティストJason Polan（ジェーソン・ポラン）の作品を展示する“Jason Polan Print Show”を開催いたします。

本展で展示する作品は、アメリカのミシガン大学内にある活版印刷スタジオ”ウルヴァリンプレス”のフリッツ・スワンソンの協力のもと、貴重なジェーソンの作品を印刷したアートプリントです。他にもZINE（ジン）や作品の原画など、ジェーソンと長年親交のあった株式会社The Bees Knee’s代表の中澤理沙が特別に譲り受けた、ここでしか見ることのできない作品の数々を展示します。

ジェーソン・ポランは亡くなるまでの15年もの間、ニューヨークの全ての人を描くというプロジェクトを続け、6000冊近くのスケッチブックに人々を描いてきました。そんな彼の作品は才能と遊び心に溢れており、ありふれた日常が美しく、ユーモアを持ったものへと変貌を遂げています。描くことはもちろん、“観察する”ことに長けていた彼が、たった１本のペンで描く作品はどれも彼の温かさや人々への想いを感じさせます。

Jason Polan ((1982年-2020年))

アメリカ・ミシガン州のフランクリン生まれ。彼は生前、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アフリカ、アジア各国にて展示会を開催しました。New York Timesや雑誌New Yorkerなどに数々のイラストレーション作品を提供しました。大手ファストフードチェーンスト「タコベル」で創作を行う「タコベルドローイングクラブ」の創立メンバーであり、現在クラブには世界中で300人に会員がいます。またこれまでに、「The Every Piieces of Art In The Museum of Modern Art」BOOK、「Every Person In New York」BOOKなどを含む100冊以上の書籍を出版しました。

Wolverine Press

ウルヴァリンプレスは、ミシガン大学の英語学科のヘレン・ゼルライタープログラムが保有する活版印刷のスタジオです。アンアーバーのグリーン通り839にある図書館の中にあります。本展で展示される作品の一部はウルヴァリンプレスのフリッツ・スワンソンの協力のもと、フリッツが所有していたジェーソンの作品を特別に印刷したものとなります。

Design agency The Bees Knees inc. will be holding an exhibition, Jason Polan Printer Show, commemorating the work of New York loved artist Jason Polan.

The main highlight of the exhibition is the letterpress works from Wolverine Press

, the letterpress studio and publisher owned by the Helen Zell Writers Program of the English Department of the University of Michigan. It's housed by the University Library at 839 Greene Street in Ann Arbor. This time we teamed up with Fritz Swanson who owned several artworks of Jason Polan and created a special print for this exhibition. Other works including zines and originals by the artist himself will be shown, as well as exclusive works from the long work relationship and friendship between Jason Polan and Risa Nakazawa, the founder of The Bees Knees.

Jason Polan’s mission was to draw every single person in New York city, filling about a total 6000 sketchbooks of people sketches. This was his project for the last 15 years before his passing. His overflowing talent and playfulness style changes the everyday from ordinary to humorous and joyful. Jason’s ability was not just drawing, it was in seeing. His warmth and kindness can be felt through his work with the use of only a singular ink pen, right down to the smallest details.

Jason Polan (1982 – 2020)
American artist born in Michigan who lived and worked in New York City. Jason's illustrations have been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, among many others. He is a founder of Taco Bell Drawing Club which held at Fast Food Chain Store in USA "Tacobell" consists of 300 membership globally. His has released numerous books including "the Every Piece Of Art in The Museum Of Modern Art" Book, and the "Every Person in New York" book.
